TESTIMONIALS

Tabitha came to gain work experience in my Art Department for Endeavour Series 7 in 2019. She was enthusiastic, easy going and willing to learn. She immediately fitted in with the team and asked questions taking advantage of the opportunity.
She soon showed us how talented she was with making and painting some props. She has a happy disposition which means she is a very nice person to have around.
I would definitely like to have Tabitha on my team again.

Madelaine Leech

Production Designer

Tabitha has a natural aptitude for scenic art, it was a pleasure to have her with us at Opera Australia. She performed all tasks she was given with care and enthusiasm and was good at following directions. She was eager to learn about the many and varied techniques we use that are particular to an Australian paint floor, such as painting with washes, using brushes on sticks on the horizontal. She was a great help touching up The Marriage of Figaro in the paint dock at the Opera House under busy and cramped conditions, Tabitha always kept her sense of humour and strong and practical work ethic. A great team player and talented and capable painter. We would love to have her at Opera Australia again in the future.

Emelia Simcox

Scenic Art Supervisor

Opera Australia

Tabitha was a student of mine on the BA Production Arts programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, on the Design Realisation pathway. During that time, she completed training in Scenic Art, Construction and Props to a high level; towards the third year she started to specialise in Scenic Art. Tabitha is a natural artist with strong skills in cloth painting, texture work, spraying and a wide range of paint finishes. She has good drawing skills and works at a good pace.
Throughout the course students practise transferable skills alongside technical skills, for example organisation, time management, communication, budgeting and scheduling. Tabitha has shown that she is very competent in co-ordinating the painting for a show and demonstrates excellent leadership skills. She has also been a strong team player who is popular with the group and is well respected for her knowledge and commitment. She is lovely to work with, has a great manner with people and is totally reliable. Designers in the past year have praised her painting skills but also her communication with them and she establishes a good rapport quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for scenic art work.
Please feel free to contact me for any further information.
